Pathaan is a selector, curator and sonic storyteller whose career spans decades across global music culture, from world-class stages to intimate sunset rituals. Rooted in Balearic, cosmic disco, downtempo, dub, jazz-inflected grooves and leftfield electronica, his sets transcend genre, guided by feeling, flow and human connection.
Early in his career, Pathaan toured internationally as guest DJ for David Bowie, an experience that shaped his musical intuition and deepened his understanding of how music can move both individuals and massive audiences. Beyond the booth, he has managed and curated several record labels, most notably his baby ‘Stoned Asia Music’, an influential imprint celebrated for its highly sought-after mix compilation CDs, which championed global fusion and forward-thinking sounds long before they entered the mainstream.
Widely recognised for his sunset sessions in Ibiza, Pathaan’s sound became synonymous with atmosphere, emotion and that fleeting moment where day dissolves into night. His influence also extends into broadcasting through BBC radio and onto the dancefloor via his long-running ‘Stoned Asia nights’, known for their open-minded crowds, deep musical journeys and strong sense of community.
Today, alongside hosting Globetronica on Openlab, Pathaan founder of HouseSound.London works at the intersection of music and design, creating bespoke sonic identities for luxury brands, most notably for the Hakkasan Group. Through this work, he applies his deep cultural knowledge and emotional sensitivity to sound, shaping environments where music enhances experience, mood and memory.
Whether curating a radio journey, soundtracking a sunset, or crafting brand atmospheres, Pathaan continues to treat music as a unifying force — a shared global frequency that connects people, places and moments.
